How To Help Wildlife

The first priority in helping wildlife who may be abandoned or injured, is to call your local Conservation Office. They will ensure the animal is looked after in an appropriate manner.

If you want to help but do not have the time, facilities or expertise, you can still help with many critical needs including transportation, supplies and expenses which include medical (and veterinary), food, supplies, cages, driving, etc.,.

I will be working on improving housing facilities this summer to look after their ongoing care during their recovery and rehabilitation process. Please contact me if you can help in any way.

As a volunteer rehabber, I incur many expenses myself. If you would like to help by donating anything to this cause, I would be more than happy to accept your gift. Unfortunately, I am not a registered charity and therefore could not give you a receipt for income tax purposes, you would be doing this as a volunteer, like myself, for the benefit of our wildlife. Rest assured, any gift you donate will be used for the sole purpose it was intended.

At this time, due to lack of facilities and associated costs in looking after these animals on a volunteer basis, I am not able to take in all animals. If you really want to help an animal you have found or know is in distress, please consider helping by meeting associated costs and transportation needs.

Drivers are always needed to take animals in to Saskatoon or other vet. If you live in my area and are willing to help with this kind of assistance or make donations of any kind, please get a hold of me, or if you are a vet in my area (or know of one) and would be willing to assist me in my rehabbing efforts, again, I welcome your support.

I have received my provincial permit, and am working towards obtaining my permit for migratory song birds. Becoming permitted does not cost me anything, on the other hand, the education to properly help these animals is another matter.

Another way to help, is that from time to time I will be offering sale items from which all proceeds will go towards wildlife rehabilitation. Please consider purchasing these items.

Please help, our wildlife needs you.

***Please remember, I deal with wildlife and not domestic animals...if you need help for domestic animals, please contact the local SPCA. My facilities are not equipped for domestic animals, and I cannot take in any domestic animals due to the possibility of disease transference into the domestic population***
